The agency is focusing on upgrading technical infrastructure and improving workforce training to grow into a strong and modern news agency.

In his speech, Thuong hailed VNA for its strong and rapid growth on the back of diverse and plentiful news coverage, its passionate and young staff, and serious Party and trade union activities.

As a state news agency, VNA should supply latest accurate and reliable source news in various areas, meeting the demand of media agencies and the public, he said.

He also agreed to VNA’s development orientations and its proposals on several mechanisms and policies to develop a number of key information products.
