Vietnam to issue e-certificate for Covid-19 vaccination

According to the National Center for Technology on Covid-19 Prevention and Control, electronic certificates for Covid-19 vaccinations will be issued at people’s request.

This agency said that the overall model of Covid-19 prevention technology systems includes proactive attack and defense systems and anti-epidemic systems.

Active defense systems include epidemic risk monitoring systems; feedback processing system; quarantine monitoring system; tracing system, check-point monitoring system, and testing system.

In particular, the epidemic risk monitoring system is based on the collection of medical declaration data, monitoring data at industrial parks, social networks, people's compliance, and vaccination speed. to assess the risk of Covid-19 in each locality.

An official from the National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that besides popular technology solutions such as Bluezone, VHD, Ncovi, VHD and QR code scanning, a number of new technology solutions will be launched soon, including the Immunization Management System and the Electronic Certificate of Covid-19 Vaccine Immunization.

Currently, the National Immunization Management System has been put into operation and has a Covid-19 vaccination management component. Information about citizens who have been vaccinated will be managed on the system and included in electronic health records. "In the coming time, people will be granted electronic certificates for Covid-19 vaccination at their request," said an official of the National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

“The electronic certificate for Covid-19 vaccination is designed to comply with current popular standards so that it can be integrated with and accepted by other countries" the official said.

The Ministry of Health’s recent report on measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic pointed out a number of technology applications that are being developed by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with related agencies such as specialized bracelets for managing people during quarantine and post-quarantine period, vehicle monitoring platforms and digital vaccine passports.

According to th report, the vaccine passports may be implemented from July 1.

In March, under the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications and others to research and develop a project on "Vaccine passports," which is a certificate for Covid-19 vaccination.
