Vietnam participates in the Postal Management Conference and the Annual Conference of the UPU’s Council of Administration

From October 23-27, the annual conference of the UPU’s Council of Administration (CA - UPU) took place in Switzerland. The Vietnam’s delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong attended the conference.

The Conference is an annual event of the UPU to implement resolutions of the Istanbul General Assembly, focusing on key issues such as the renovation of the UPU, the restructuring of the administration and operation of the International Bureau, implement the Istanbul Business Plan, Strategy and the UPU Action Plan in 2017, and approve the UPU Budget Plan and UPU Action Plan 2018.
 
The UPU organized the Postal Management Conference on October 26. With the theme "E-commerce and state management: the transformation of post", The conference focused on e-commerce management policies, postal administration, e-commerce management policies, etc.
 
The Vietnam’s delegation actively took part in documentary research and contributed its opinions. On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation had bilateral meetings with the Director General of the International Bureau, Mr. Hussein A. Bisha. At the meeting, Mr. Hussein expressed his appreciation for Vietnam's participation in the UPU's activities as well as of the UPU Council of Administration as a member, particularly impressed by the development of Vietnam's post in his first visit to Vietnam in 2013 and promised to continue to create the best conditions for Vietnam in UPU technical assistance programs for developing and least developed countries.
 
The delegation also visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Bern, Switzerland and had a meeting with Mr. Pham Hai Bang, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bern, Switzerland.
