Vietnam- Korea IT center opens in Hanoi

Opening ceremony of Vietnam- Korea information technology center was organized in Hanoi on May 27. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong attended and addressed the speech.

Korea is a leading nation in e-government worldwide, according to the UN’s report on e- government 2010. The establishment of Vietnam- RoK IT center has great significance and contributes to boost IT development and e- government programs in Vietnam.

This cooperation is targeted to fulfill commitments between Viet Nam’s MIC and Ministry of Public Administration and Security of Korea. Both sides inked a memorandum of understanding in computerization in August 2009.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong expressed his gratitude to establishment of Vietnam- Korea IT center and wished that the center would contribute to boost IT development in Vietnam and further strengthen Vietnam- Korea relations.

The center will conduct research and provide consultations in IT sector and e- government while serving as a bridge boosting cooperation between two countries’ IT organizations and business through investment, technical exchange and transfer.

Previously, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong discussed with Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Security of Korea Kim Nam Soek on cooperative activities and projects in the past and coming years.
