On October, 05, in Istalbul (Turkey), within the framework of the 26th Universal Postal Congress, the Congress elected UPU Director General and Deputy Director General, Members of Council of Administration (CA) as well as Members of Postal Operations Council (POC) for the tenure 2017-2020.
The delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong attended the Congress.
After the vote results announced, Vietnam was the 4th time re-elected as Member of the UPU Council of Administration for the tenure 2017-2020.
Mr. Bishar A. Hussein (Kenya) was re-elected as Director General and Mr. Pascal Clivaz (Switzerland) was also re-elected as Deputy General Director of the UPU International Bureau.
The Congress also elected 40 members of the Council of Administration (CA) and 40 members of Postal Operations Council (POC).
The 26th Universal Postal Congress took place from September, 20 to October, 07, 2016 in Istanbul - Turkey.
