Viet Nam - Russia signed the cooperation agreement on communications, ICT and mass media

On November, 25th, 2014, in Sochi - Russia, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong, on behalf of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and Minister of Telecommunications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation N.A. Nikiforov, on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation signed a cooperation agreement in the field of communications, information technology and mass communication between the two countries.


Under the agreement, Viet Nam and Russia will cooperate in ensuring the conditions for free shipping all kinds of mails between the two countries; exchanging experiences in managing policies of the telecommunications market, experience in building e-government; promoting and introducing the two countries and peoples as well as the friendship between the two countries in the mass media; exchanging programs of broadcasting on radio and television; building mechanism in associating the production of radio and television programs; training professionals in the fields of communications, information technology and mass media; etc.

The agreement will be valid for 5 years and replace the Agreement dated April,  15th, 1994 between the two countries on cooperation in the field of post.  This Agreement is one of nine important cooperation agreements signed between Viet Nam and the Russia  in the framework of the official visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong  and the Viet Nam high-level delegation to Russia from November, 22nd - 26th , 2014.
