The organisation of the awards aims to continue recognising and honour outstanding authors and works in the field of external information.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Service, Bui Truong Giang, affirmed that amidst the volatile regional and world situation with unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19, under the leadership of the Party and State, Vietnam has steadily overcome difficulties and achieved many important achievements in all fields.
The general successes of the country and foreign affairs in recent times have seen significant contributions of external information forces both at home and abroad, he said.
Through six editions, the awards have secured a reputation for quality and prestige, becoming a forum for Vietnamese and foreign authors to exchange professional expertise and opening up a creative space for those working in the field, Giang stated.
According to the awards’ regulations, submissions can be in any language and must be published as an article in a print newspaper, online newspaper, or website (licensed by competent agencies), radio broadcast, TV broadcast, press photo, landscape photo, book, or video clip from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
For works published before or after the aforementioned time, they must have at least two-thirds of their duration and volume published within the allotted time. Prizes are scheduled to be presented to winners in late August.
