Established in 2001, QTSC is the first and the most successful software city in the country. The park has attracted over 8.1 trillion VND (364.5 million USD) in investment over the last 15 years and total revenue of businesses based in the park hit 5 trillion VND (225 million USD) in 2015, 200 times higher than 2001, according to QTSC Director Lam Nguyen Hai Long.
It is now home to 120 IT businesses (51 foreign firms), and 33 individual investors.
QTSC will focus on developing a trade name for software development, aiming to make it a prestigious software development hub in the region and the world , Long said.
The Prime Minister has signed a decision to set up a pilot chain of Software Cities nationwide.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong stressed that through the attraction of many prestigious IT enterprises nationwide, QTSC has confirmed its leading position in the field, helping to promote the concentrated IT city model throughout the nation.
While appreciating the breakthrough achievements reached by the firm, and its remarkable contributions to the State budget , VFF Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan said the firm should focus on training human resources and promoting the germination of IT businesses.
He urged the firm to work with relevant agencies to begin building a chain of IT cities, and to transfer its technology and management mechanism to the chain’s members.
On the occasion, President Nhan presented the first-class Labour Order to the firm.
