The Prime Minister on October 26 issued Directive 28 on promoting the campaign “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods”.
These agencies are instructed to promote information about Vietnamese goods and services so that domestic and foreign consumers know, understand and properly evaluate the quality of Vietnamese goods and services, production and business capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises.
They are required to diversify propaganda activities about the campaign in various forms and with appropriate content to encourage people and organizations to prioritize the purchase of Vietnamese goods.
These agencies are also asked to propagate and mobilize Vietnamese businesses to be aware of the role, benefits and effectiveness of participating in the Campaign, their responsibility for improving the quality and competitiveness of goods and services, and fulfilling their commitments to protect the interests of consumers.
Relevant agencies are requested to build, protect and develop brands for Vietnamese products and goods in the domestic and global market; to encourage domestic enterprises, producers and traders to prioritize the purchase and use of domestically made machinery, equipment, raw materials and domestic services.
They are instructed to regularly review policies, strengthen support for Vietnamese businesses in trade promotion activities, through stimulating consumption of Vietnamese goods, establishing distribution channels for local goods, developing the domestic market, applying e-commerce in domestic and foreign market expansion, inspecting and controlling the market and strengthening consumer protection activities.
Make-in-Vietnam ICT products and services program
According to Directive 28, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is instructed to effectively implement the Trade Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, and the domestic market development project in association with the “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods” campaign in 2021-2025.
The Prime Minister assigns the Ministry of Information and Communications to preside over and collaborate with the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Central Steering Committee of the Campaign, and related agencies to design and implement programs to advertise Vietnamese goods and give up-to-date information on the implementation of the Campaign.
The Ministry of Information and Communications is also assigned to cooperate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to develop and implement communication programs about Vietnamese products, to coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to formulate plans to strengthen and promote information and communication about the Campaign for overseas Vietnamese.
The Ministry of Information and Communications is also tasked to coordinate with related agencies to organize the annual "Make in Vietnam" program to promote the prioritization of using Vietnamese IT products and services.
