Minister Truong Minh Tuan receives the business delegation of Slovakia

On July, 18th, in Hanoi, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan met and talked with the Slovakia’s business delegation led by Mr. Vladimir Lezak - Director of Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.

Attending the meeting, the Vietnam’s side were representatives of concerned departments of the Ministry of Information and Communications and representatives of businesses: VNPT, Viettel, MobiFone, FPT and VNG. The Slovakia’s side were representatives of 10 enterprises operating in the IT sector, including names such as: Mega Max Media, MicroStep-MIS, Virtual Reality Media.

At the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan appreciated the presence of 10 IT enterprises, among 18 big Slovakia’s enterprises accompanied Prime Minister of Slovakia to visit Vietnam this time.
 
Minister Tuan informed that the Government of Vietnam affirmed the importance of ICT in economic and social development, and considered this was one of the essential infrastructure need investment priorities to bring Vietnam to basically become an industrialized country by the year 2020.
 
In recent years, the Government of Vietnam has made great strides in the development and improvement of the legal environment to promote the development of the ICT industry, as well as to establish a healthy competitive environment to create favorable conditions for all domestic and international investors.
 
Vietnam is now being considered as one of the leading nations in Southeast Asia in economic growth and becomes a market with high competitiveness in the world. Vietnam is the number 1 destination of ​​ICT multinational corporations in the region.
 
Minister Truong Minh Tuan emphasized the IT applications in the government agencies was the driving force for administrative reform. Currently, Vietnam is completing the information infrastructure, data bases, primarily focuses on building the national database about people, resources and the environment, finance, economy, etc to form the electronic working environment among state agencies.
 
The Government of Vietnam calls for and commits to create favorable conditions for the participation of national and international companies in the sector.
  
Minister Tuan believed that Slovakia’s businesses with strong capital, experience and technologies would find their own opportunities for cooperation and investment in Vietnam market.
 
At the meeting, representatives of the Slovakia’s business delegation briefed on the status of ICT development in their country. Vietnam and Slovakia’s IT businesses had the opportunity to introduce their products and services as well as suggestions, proposals for cooperation in the coming time.
