Minister Truong Minh Tuan said, this visit of the Deputy Prime Minister had great significance to affirm the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The Government of Viet Nam, as well as other ministries and sectors in Vietnam always effort to accelerate the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries in socio-economic sectors, in which the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the field of information technology is one of the important issues in the agenda of the Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said, Slovakia was willing to support ICT enterprises in the spirit of contents of MoUs signed between the two countries. The 2nd plenary meeting session of the two countries in June has focused on IT cooperation and application, e-government, smart city, etc.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Ministry of Information and Communications for facilitating AcTV Company to be licensed to produce entertainment programs for children.
Also at the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan gave a brief overview of the situation on the development of ICT in Vietnam. Vietnam is currently the country with the highest number of registered domain names in the ASEAN region. Vietnam's e-Government index is ranked by the United Nations as the second highest growth’s group, up 10 levels as of 2015.
For the cooperation between the two countries in the field of information technology in recent years, Minister Truong Minh Tuan emphasized: Under the support of the two governments, especially after the visit of the Prime Minister Slovakia in July 2016, the cooperation between the two countries in the field of ICT was strongly developed. He emphasized that Slovakia was one of the countries with many experiences and strengths in IT application and information security, so this was the opportunity for Vietnam’s enterprises.
On this occasion, Minister Truong Minh Tuan thanked the Deputy Prime Minister and the Government of Slovakia for their support for activities of the two countries in the field of information and communication. Some ICT companies of Vietnam such as VNPT, Mobifone, Viettel, VTC, FPT have cooperated with Slovak enterprises to deploy business investment in Slovakia.
