Exhibition on ASEAN Community

On, August, 05 th , 2016, Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with concerned ministries, agencies organised the Opening Ceremony of Exhibition on ASEAN Community. Attending the event were Member of Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of Central Propaganda Department, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan; Ambassadors and Representatives of ASEAN countries; Representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, etc.

This is an activity of the National Steering Committee on ASEAN Propaganda, to celebrate the first year of the establishment of the ASEAN Community as well as towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN (2017).

At the opening remarks, Minister Truong Minh Tuan stated: ASEAN Community formed in 2015 is a milestone in the process of connecting the whole ASEAN, showing the maturity and strength of ASEAN after nearly five decades of existence and development.
 
The Exhibition on ASEAN Community displays and introduces to the public information on ASEAN in many forms: Presentation of postage stamps on the ASEAN Community; Photos, documentary films selected from 3 contests organised by Ministry of Information and Communications with the theme: Countries and peoples of ASEAN; Climate change; The peoples of ASEAN; the collection of 27 paintings won top prizes in the painting contest for ASEAN children held by the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs; Books about the three pillars of ASEAN, Southeast Asia and Vietnam, etc.
 
The exhibition is one of the activities of the National Steering Committee on ASEAN Propaganda (Ministry of Information and Communications is the standing member), with the participation and positive responses of embassies, ASEAN  countries, concerned ministries, agencies, contributing to enhance understanding and solidarity between ASEAN countries.
 
The Exhibition on ASEAN Community takes place for three days from August, 5th to 7th at the National Library, 31 Trang Thi Str., Hanoi.
