After two working days, the Jury Council selected 93 outstanding press works from 143 press works of the final round of the tenth National Press Awards.
Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, Chairman of the Jury Council and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper Thuan Huu said the quality of press works are even which truly reflects the socio-economic and political situation of the nation, but noted that there were, however, not many prominent works in the categories of journalism photography and critique.
In comparison with the past ten years, this year saw the highest number of entries with 1,660 entries from 169 press agencies and individuals across the country.
The Press Awards also received a positive response from Journalists' Associations of provinces and cities with 61 out of 63 Journalists' Associations of provinces in attendance.
The number of press agencies and collaborators attending the competition also surpassed the number in the previous year.
The awards ceremony will be held on the occasion of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21) at the Cultural Friendship Palace.
