Vietnam has always insisted on promoting IT application and development as an important economic and technical sector to create new modes of socio-economic development. Vietnam has been in the top ten of most attractive countries for software outsourcing in the world. The big markets of Vietnamese software enterprises are now North America and Japan, in which the Japanese market is paying special attention due to the cultural and geographical similarities of the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam emphasized: The Ministry of Information and Communications always determined that the cooperation with Japanese partners was an important factor for the development of Vietnam IT industry. Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications of Japan signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the field of ICT in which two Ministries committed to support and create conditions for IT enterprises of the two countries to cooperate, as Vietnam begins its digital transformation process.

Deputy PM Phan Tam also urged universities and businesses of the two countries to actively implement cooperative activities such as improving the quality of human resources both in terms of professional qualifications as well as Japanese language skills;  researching, developing and commercializing products, contributing to the development of the IT industry in both Vietnam and Japan in the coming time.
