The Viet Nam Digital Transformation Conference 2022, with the theme "Enhancing digital human resources", took place in Ha Noi on November 29.

According to a report from global management consulting firm Kearney, ASEAN member states have actively taken concrete steps in the digital transformation journey.

If successfully applied, the digital transformation program can contribute US$1 trillion to the total GDP of ASEAN in the next ten years, helping ASEAN rise as one of the world's leading digital innovation hubs.

In Viet Nam, human resource development is an essential factor in ensuring the success of the national digital transformation program. The Vietnamese Government has issued many documents, policies, and strategies on human resource development for digital transformation.

At the Conference, organized by the Viet Nam Software and IT Services (VINASA), experts said that, with the increasing demand for digital transformation and the rapid development of technologies, training activities had to be innovated to match with constantly-changing needs of teaching and learning.

The report "Students and Technology 2022: Rebalancing the Learner Experience" by Educause pointed out that the behavioral trends of learners had changed rapidly in the past two years. Accordingly, online learning methods have become increasingly popular.

Given this fact, the Conference focused on discussing crucial changes in training methods, the development of educational technology, and capacity-building and retraining program to improve the region's digital skills and competitiveness.

Also, at the Conference, the Digital Skills Alliance was established to close the digital skills gap, aiming to design competency-based curricula, apply technology, and connect students with employers towards a comprehensive digital transformation in Viet Nam.

This Conference is a companion event of the Digital ASEAN Master Plan 2025, part of the roadmap for implementing the ASEAN Declaration on Education Improvement to narrow the digital skills gap in Viet Nam and ASEAN countries./.
