Deputy Minister Phan Tam receives the State Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia

On January 22, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam had a meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia Sok Puthyvuth.

Sharing experiences in ICT development, Deputy Minister Phan Tam said that in recent years, Vietnam had determined that the motivation for development in the coming period would be based on technology, especially IT. This is an opportunity for the ICT to develop and the Ministry of Information and Communications affirm its role in the country's socio-economic development. And Vietnam is willing to share its ICT experience with Cambodia, Deputy Minister affirmed.

However, when ICT penetrates into every sector of the economy, it poses challenges for regulatory organizations, such as: ensuring information security, creating a reliable network environment for users. To accomplish this task, countries need to cooperate with each other because cyberspace is borderless. In particular, it is necessary to promote cooperation in cyber security in ASEAN, Deputy Minister Phan Tam emphasized.
 
During this visit, the delegation of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia visits the Vietnam’s National Monitoring Center for Cyber ​​Safety. Deputy Minister expressed his wish that Cambodia would establish a similar center for the two countries to cooperate in the field of cyber security.
 
The State Secretary Sok Puthyvuth expressed his thanks to Deputy Minister Phan Tam for taking his time and wished that in the coming time, the two ministries would have many cooperation plans in the field of information security.
