Thanh said the park was a key centre of the IT industry in the city, helping boost the city’s e-governance in 2014.
According to latest reports, the city’s IT and communications industry, which counts 700 businesses and 22,000 employees, is expected to earn revenue of VNĐ13 trillion (US$575 million) in 2017 – double compared to 2014.
The IT industry is also expected to gain export turnover for software worth $67 million.
The city has called for investment in a software park in the Đa Phước International urban area and the 341-ha Da Nang IT Park.
In 2015, the city’s e-government system was transferred to 16 cities and provinces towards building smart cities including the IT and communications infrastructure, IT applications, policy and mechanisms for IT and communications and IT manpower resources.
