ASEAN strengthens cooperation on cybersecurity

The ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity (AMCC) was held from 18 to 19 September 2018 in Singapore. The delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications headed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung attended the event.

Under the theme of "Towards an open and safe Cyberspace", the conference was attended by representatives from ministries, regulatory bodies in charge of ICT and cybersecurity, international organizations, experts, scholars ...
 
 The conference focused on discussing the initiatives and coordination mechanism among the pillars of the ASEAN Community in policy formulation and capacity building towards common regional standards / principles. The conference adopted the AMCC Chairman's Statement and underlined the need to strengthen ASEAN cooperation on cybersecurity; considering international rules and regulations and the ability to use confidence-building measures.
 
Representatives from the United Nations and international organizations shared their experiences on coordination in cybersecurity, emphasizing the central role of the ICT sector in coordinating and improving effective prevention and resolution of network security incidents.
