Administrative violations in the field of posts can be punished up to VND 70 million

The Government has issued the Decree No. 58/2011/NĐ- CP dated July 8, 2011 on sanctions against administrative violations in the field of posts. The Decree regulates the form and the level of sanctions for administrative violations in the postal field.

Accordingly, following are some violations and their associated fines:
      - Violation of regulations on supplying and using postal services: VND 200,000- VND 70 million;
      - Violation of regulations on investment and business of postal services: VND 3 million- VND 50 million;
      - Violation of regulations on public utility postal services: VND 5 million- VND 30 million;
      - Violation of regulations on postal stamp: VND 1 million- VND 70 million.

In addition, the Decree also regulates administrative punishments from VND 500,000- VND 20 million for violation of regulations on claim for compensation, report, inacceptance to check and control of competent State Agencies; competences and procedures of administrative sanctions.

The Decree takes into effect from September 1, 2011 and replaces item 1, chapter II of the Decree 142/2004/ NĐ- CP dated July 8, 2004 by the Government on sanctions against administrative violations on posts, telecommunications and radio frequency and the Decree No 55. 2010/ NĐ- CP dated May 24, 2010 by the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Decree 142/2004/ NĐ- CP dated July 8, 2004 by the Government on sanctions against administrative violations on posts, telecommunications and radio frequency.
