Under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s leadership, the Centre for Science and Technology Communication — the standing body of the awards — has officially launched the 2025 edition of the Press Awards on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation.

Over the years, the annual awards have attracted the enthusiastic participation of media outlets, journalists, and reporters across the country. The awards have made a significant contribution to raising public awareness of the role, significance, and impact of science and technology on the socio-economic development of the country.

2025 marks a pivotal development for the awards. In an effort to vigorously promote communication activities and widely disseminate the strategic objectives set out by the Party in the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (dated December 22, 2024), the Minister of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 1384/QD-BKHCN on June 20, 2025, promulgating the regulations on granting the Press Awards on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, with the aim to encourage and honour outstanding journalistic works in these fields.

For the first time, the awards are open to foreign individuals and organisations whose journalistic works are published in Vietnamese media in accordance with national laws.

According to the regulations, submitted entries must demonstrate high quality in both content and presentation, offering in-depth, comprehensive, and insightful reflections on issues related to scientific research, technological application, innovation, and digital transformation. Entries should highlight exemplary initiatives, effective models, and outstanding achievements with positive societal impact, while also recognising outstanding individuals and collectives in these fields.

Eligible entries must have been published between January 1 and November 15, 2025. Each media category will include: one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, and two consolation prizes. Each author or group of authors may submit multiple entries but may be awarded a maximum of one prize at the highest level.

The evaluation process consists of three rounds: preliminary, final, and the award announcement and presentation ceremony. The ceremony’s schedule will be determined by the organising committee, ensuring alignment with the implementation timeline and current financial regulations./.
