Vietnam assists Cuba in training data analysis

This is one of the meaningful activities in a series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2020) and the Vietnam - Latin America Relationship Development Plan in 2020.

On September 21, 2020, the online training course "Designing and developing big data systems" for Cuba, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Cuban Ministry of Communications, officially opened at Hanoi and La Habana. The training course took place within a week with the coordination of the Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam, the two Vietnam’s leading ICT groups: VNPT and Viettel.

This year is a special year when the two countries celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, the interest and cooperation between the two ministries is still strengthened with many meaningful and practical activities.
 
The objective of the course is to provide advanced knowledge about big data such as analyzing, designing and developing big data systems for IT application, e-government development in regulatory agencies.
 
The course helps Cuba solve challenges and tools for big data as well as related contents. It attracted nearly 50 attendants from Cuba's Ministry of Communications, ministries, sectors, corporations and ICT enterprises. Topics conveyed by Vietnamese lecturers and experts from the Authority of Information Technology Application (MIC), VNPT, and Viettel include: general knowledge about big data; big data processing; storage and handling of big data;  infrastructure requirements; how to manage big data using IPv6; analysis and presentation tools, models, methods and techniques math for analyzing and integrating big data, etc.
 
In the framework of cooperation between the two ministries, in July 2019, the Ministry of Information and Communications and coordinated with VNPT, Viettel, Bkav to organize training courses on cybersecurity in Havana for Cuba. Also in 2020, in order to promote the specialized ICT cooperation between Vietnam and Latin America, the Ministry of Information and Communications has implemented many meaningful activities such as participating in La Havana international book fair in Cuba, publishing 2 books in Spanish and copyright granting activities, exchanging radio and television programs and promoting images and relationship between the two countries.
 
In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will host an investment promotion conference in the field of ICT with Latin American countries in October 2020 and continue to host 01 information security training course for Cuba, scheduled for November 2020./.
