The project, to be invested in Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts of Ho Chi Minh City, was unveiled at a recent conference on investment promotions in the two districts of Ho Chi Minh City presided over by State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Under the project, Viettel will work alongside the two districts to promote digital transformation in terms of digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy and digital society.

On digital infrastructure, the telecoms group will by 2025 invest in 4G and 5G infrastructure to cover broadband services for 100% of the population and fiber optic infrastructure to 100% of households.

Regarding the digital government, it will deploy and provide smart control center services, a shared data center system for administration operations.

With regard to the digital economy, Viettel will help 100% of businesses use digital management platforms, electronic contracts, and digital signatures.

In terms of digital society, the group will provide support so that all residents in Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts can use smartphones and electronic payment accounts.
