The affected provinces include Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang and Tien Giang.
Earlier, notices on the date of analogue signal switch-off had been continually broadcast to local TV viewers, who also received SMS messages about the planned shutdown.
Viewers in these provinces have been advised to buy set-top boxes or integrated television sets in order to receive digital signals.
The MIC has supported more than 530,000 poor and near-poor households in provinces who will be affected by the analogue switch-off in order for these households to buy the appropriate equipment.
With the digital switchover, people can now receive between 26-70 channels with better quality compared with those programmes broadcast on analogue signals.
The analogue shutdown in these 15 provinces was originally planned for July 1, but has been delayed to August 15 due to some technical difficulties.
Vietnam began its digital switchover in 2016 when analogue signals were first turned off in the five centrally-governed cities of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.
The plan is expected to be fully completed by 2020.
