From July, 1st, 2015, Central Post be officially under Ministry of Information and Communications

On June, 27th, 2015, at the headquarters of Ministry of Information and Communications, the handover ceremony of Central Post from Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to Ministry of Information and Communications was organized. At the ceremony, VNPT handovered the status quo of the network system and equipment that Central Post directly managed, operated as well as its provided functions and duties. To ensure the communication of the Party and State, VNPT in collaboration with Central Post maintained the status quo of the Central Post’s network infrastructure, equipment systems and services; Building regulations in coordination of operation and exploitation to determine the obligations of both parties, clearly define responsibilities on the basis of the approved handover plan. The business activities of Central Post was continued to be implemented by VNPT in coordination with Central Post to ensure the efficiency of VNPT and customers’ benefits. Regarding to the organizational structure, labor, finance, assets, Central Post was handovered based on the data of the end of June, 30th, 2015. 

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son said that Central Post was a special unit performing special tasks. VNPT had concerned, supported Central Post in fulfilling its tasks with updated, advanced technologies to ensure the smooth, safety and confidential communications.  Central Post was honored to be awarded the title of Labour Hero and many other honorable rewards. 

Central Post was expected to move to Ministry of Information and Communications since April, 01st, 2015. However, this date was delayed to ensure the communication activities and careful prepared transfer, Minister Nguyen Bac Son informed. 

On March, 12th, 2015, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Director of Vietnam Internet Network Information Center was appointed to be Director of Central Post. According to Decision No. 889/QD-BTTTT dated June, 04th, 2015 of Minister of Information and Communications, Central Post was a special information unit of Ministry of Information and Communications, with functions in ensuring the communication of the Party, the State to important clues in emergency as prescribed by law. Central Post inherited the rights, responsibilities and legal obligations of the former Central Post.
