On December, 01st, 2014, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son signed the Decision No. 1798/QD-BTTTT concerning the establishment of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation on the basis of restructuring Viet Nam Mobile Telecom Service (VMS).
According to this decision, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation reserves the rights, responsibilities and legal obligations of VMS. MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation is an one member limited company, that the State holds 100% of the charter capital (VND 15,000,000,000,000 - fifteen trillion), operating under the mother – son model.
Main operations of the Corporation are: Investing, constructing, operating, exploiting the network and providing telecommunications, information technology, broadcasting, multimedia communication services; Manufacturing, assembling and exporting electronics, telecommunications and information technology equipment; etc.
After the decision, Ministry of Information and Communications held a meeting of Equitization of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation’s Steering Committee. The equitization of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation will be implemented in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister: "cautious, tight, properly targeted, high efficiency".
