From April, 1st, other 84 devices be integrated Digital TV function

(Mic.gov.vn) - According to the decision of the Prime Minister, from April, 1st, 2014, all over 32-inch TVs be imported or manufactured in Vietnam must be integrated a digital television receiver.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee of Viet Nam Television Digitization Project Le Nam Thang said, Vietnam’s current market has 14 kinds of DVB - T2 TVs satisfied with the standards and technical regulations that the Ministry of Information and Communications issued. After April, 1st, 2014, there will be more about 84 types of equipment integrated DVB - T2 Digital TV receivers.

According to the Deputy Minister, integrated TVs are not required to have conformity certifications, but businesses themselves have to give statements about their conformity in accordance with the standard DVB - T2. Businesses can use testing laboratories designated or accepted by the Ministry in mutual agreements between countries in the region and around the world. 

In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communications will have guidelines about regulations concerning labels and logo stickers of digitized TVs for all televisions sold in the market, so that customers can easily identify which device has been integrated digital TV function.
