Vietnam- Malaysia ICT forum opens in HCM City

Vietnam- Malaysia ICT forum was jointly organized in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on May 24 by Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). Attending the forum were Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong; Mr. Shazryll Zahiran, Consulate General of Malaysia in HCMC; Mr.Le Thai Hy, Director of HCM City Department of Information and Communications and the participation of 64 Vietnamese and Malaysian enterprises.

This forum is an opportunity for ICT enterprises in Vietnam to exchange, learn and seek cooperation opportunities with businesses in Malaysia in such fields as e-government, e-commerce, data centre, cloud computing services, project management and monitor software, virtual networks and mobile apps.

The forum is aimed at introducing the potential of IT market and business opportunities in Vietnam to Malaysian companies.
 
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong highly appreciated Malaysia’s ICT development thanks to the Malaysian Government and the efforts of enterprises.

He emphasized this forum would contribute to boost investment and trade activities in not only Vietnamese and Malaysian markets but also ASEAN one.

With a modern public administration and e-government development,   Malaysia will share their experiences in implementing e-government.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong hoped that both nations would strengthen cooperation in building an ASEAN e-government.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications pledged to create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises and Malaysian ICT enterprises in particular to invest and do business in Vietnam.

Vietnam always attaches importance to IT with the development; the Vietnamese Government therefore has issued many policies to attract foreign investment into this sector.

At the forum, Director of HCMC Department of Information and Communications Le Thai Hy presented the situation on HCMC’s ICT development. He also expressed his wish that Malaysia ICT enterprises would continue to speed up cooperation with enterprises in HCMC. 

On this occasion, a cooperative agreement was signed between TMA Software Company and Malaysian online payment service provider.
