Vietnam- Laos friendship book exhibition opens in Vientiane

The Vietnam- Laos friendship book exhibition was opened on April 10 in Vientiane, Laos on the occasion of Laotian traditional Bunpimay New Year festival to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of strategic partnership between two countries.

The exhibition was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Laotian Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

Attending the opening ceremony were Laotian Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly; Laotian Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala; Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son and leaders of Vietnamese and Laotian Ministries and press Agencies.

Thousands of publications from printed and online newspapers to television and radio broadcasts as well as books are being exhibited. This helps Laotian readers and Vietnamese citizens in Laos understand each nation’s status on politics, economics, society and culture, especially Vietnam- Laos great friendship ties.

The exhibition is an opportunity for two countries’ journalists to meet, share professional experience and exchange with Laotian people and overseas Vietnamese in Laos.

Addressing the exhibition, Laotian Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala said the exhibition reflects the close ties of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, Governments and peoples.

Vietnam and Lao press agencies have always closely cooperated with each other in sharing information and professional experience, investing technology and science and training human resources.

The exhibition will be ended on 13, April 2012.
