Viettel invests 2,000 billion VND in R& D activity

Investing 2,000 billion VND in research and development (R&D) activity in 2012, military- run telecom company Viettel has adequate conditions to invest in to large- scale research projects.

This announcement was made by Mr. Tong Viet Trung, Viettel’s Deputy General Director at conference on science and technology works in the 2006- 2010 period organized on February 23.

According to Viettel’s revenue report 2011, the company reached 20,000 billion VND pre- tax profit. Viettel invested 2,000 billion VND in R& D activity accordance with the State’s policy on allowance to exact 10% of pre- tax profit in R& D activity.

Viettel totally has adequate conditions to invest in large- scale research projects and realizes the goal of building Viettel Research and Development Institute that has strong research capacity and owns design on telecommunications equipments, including terminal, access and core equipments.
