A workshop on Viet Nam- Japan cooperation in ICT application for environment warning and disaster mitigation was jointly organised on September 8, 2011 by National Institue of Software and Digital Content Industry under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and System Networks Company under Panasonic Corporation.
Attending the workshop were Deputy Minister of Information and Communicatioins Nguyen Minh Hong, Mr. Tokikazu Matsumoto, Technical Director of Panasonic communications and systems Company under Panasonic Corporation and representatives from Japanese Embassy, funtional units under MIC.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said that Viet Nam ranked the fifth in ten countries which are the most seriously affected by climate change, the Vietnamese Government and Ministries in general, the Ministry of Information and Communications in particular have paid attention to climate change and are seeking sollution of ICT application that will give early warning of disaster and mitigate bad effects on global climate change in Viet Nam.
Several sollutions on disaster warning were introduced at the workshop. In addition to, participants had a chance to exchange their experiences and give their comments in order to build a system of environment warning and disaster mitigation in Viet Nam in the coming days.
