The meeting endorsed APEC’s ICT Growth Strategy in the period 2011- 2015 in Okinawa Declaration (Japan 2010) with theme “ICT as an Engine for a new period of Socio- Economic Growth”. The Declaration emphasized that ICT must contribute to fulfill economic recovery objectives rapidly after crisis and promote a balanced, safe, stable and sustainable development.
The Ministerial Meeting underlined five ICT development strategies: Developing ICT to promote new socio- economic growth, Enhancing ICT application in socio-economic activities, Developing a safe and trusted ICT Environment, Promoting regional economic integration and Boosting cooperation in ICT sector.
Vietnamese delegation actively contributed to the content of the Okinawa Declaration showing rights and benefits of Viet Nam as well as other developing countries. Deputy Minister Hung also worked with Korean Communications Commission (KCC) and had meetings on sideline with delegation heads of member countries in order to further strengthen good relations between Viet Nam and APEC members
