The cooperation in information and communications between Vietnam and Laos has been strengthened and gained significant achievements.  The Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and Lao Ministries of Posts and Telecommunications; Information, Culture and Tourisms have tightened good cooperative relationship and shared experiences in management policies on the fields of posts and telecommunications.

On 15 December 2011, two Ministers had the talks and discussed specific issues to promote and strengthen two nations’ relations in the field of posts, telecommunications and information technology (IT).

Vietnam and Laos will continue to promote traditional cooperative relations to develop infrastructure and services of posts, telecommunications and IT in both nations with their potentials and strengthens.

Minister Hiem Phommachanh also paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. On this occasion, the Lao delegation visited and worked with Posts and Telecommunication Institute of Technology, Telecommunication Authority and businesses namely, VNPT and Viettel.
