Strengthening Vietnam - France postal cooperation

On December 2, 2019, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan had a meeting with the French Post (La Post) led by Mr. Jean Paul Forceville, Director of EU and International Relations.

 At the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan discussed with Mr. Jean Paul Forceville on issues of mutual interest, including issues related to the operation of the World Postal Union (UPU) that the two countries are members and prepare for the UPU Congress in 2020; difficulties and challenges for the current postal market management, especially in the context of a strong e-commerce boom and digital economy; competition in the postal sector with the appearance of start-ups and technology companies also participate in the postal market; promote postal cooperation between France and Vietnam ...

The Deputy Minister expected the French side to share experiences in state management of the postal market; orienting the future development in the context of the 4.0 technology revolution; to promote bilateral cooperation and cooperate in developing e-commerce markets.
 
Mr. Jean Paul Forcevillie said that La Post and Vietnam Post have had close cooperation since 2007. For the challenges of postage, La Post has made reforms, promoted development, tried to have solutions to these issues such as tax solutions, observed and considered suitable startups to cooperate. La Post is willing to share experiences and strengthen the cooperation with Vietnam.
