Vietnam and Hungary enhance cooperation in telecommunication

As part of of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2019 held in Hungary from September 9-12, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung took part in separate meetings with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó, Hungarian Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics, and ITU Secretary General Houlin Zhao.

 At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó and Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics, the two sides agreed to strengthen activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2020; enhance information exchange to promote the land and people of each country.

The two sides reached a consensus on cooperating in sharing information on development of the digital economy, digital transformation; connecting e-commerce and logistics among businesses of the two countries; as well as promoting the realisation of cooperation agreements.
 
The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade affirmed that Hungary is ready to accelerate cooperative programmes with Vietnam, as well as experiences of organising the ITU Telecom World as Vietnam will host this important event in 2020.
 
During the meeting with ITU Secretary General Houlin Zhao, the two sides exchanged views on the coordination plan and preparation for the organization of the ITU Telecom World 2020.
 
The ITU Secretary General highly appreciated the role of Vietnam in developing global telecommunications and expressed his confidence that Vietnam will successfully host this event.
