At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung appreciated the cooperation in ICT and telecommunications between the two countries as well as cooperation between the two ministries in recent years.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung introduced briefly about the development of the Telecommunications and IT industry of Viet Nam as well as specific targets in 2019 and the following years.
The Minister of Communications expressed his pleasure at Vietnam's achievements in the field of Telecommunications and ICT. The Cuban government is currently very interested in the computerization of Cuba, as well as cyber security. In the coming time, the Cuban Government will issue a Decree on security of ICT industry.
During this trip, the delegation learn the actual situation of 4G network development in Vietnam. The Minister also expects the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam to share management experience in network security, 4G development, legal framework in the field of Telecommunications and ICT. At the same time, businesses of both sides discuss discussions towards specific cooperation in ICT, Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella said.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that the Ministry of Information and Communications as well as telecommunications and ICT enterprises in Vietnam are always ready to help Cuba whenever Cuba requires.
* In the afternoon of the same day, Cuban Minister of Communications Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Government Office.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister was pleased with the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including ICT and telecommunications, especially the cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam and the Ministry of Communications of Cuba in recent years. He believed that this visit would contribute to further strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Information and Communications to direct enterprises to study the possibility of boosting ICT trade in in Cuba.
Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella thanked the Government of Vietnam for its support to Cuba in developing the IT infrastructure; at the same time, hoped to continue receiving the support in the future.
