Vietnam’s first smart media city to be built

The central province of Thua Thien - Hue is implementing a project to develop Hue into Vietnam’s first smart city.

The project is being implemented in the An Van Duong new urban area in Hue city with a total investment of over US$22 million.

The project aims to develop the first traditional smart city in Vietnam with a focus on promoting the development of information technology, virtual reality technology, and the cinema industry.
 
In addition, it will connect with the historic resources thatare preserved in Hue, highly-qualified human resources and the local tourism industry.
 
The province has also recently established a centre for smart city administration with three main functions, namely supervision, management and data analysis, with an aim to build a service-minded government and handle citizens’ feedback in a timely manner.
 
The project is as part of the master programme on promoting smart urban services in Thua Thien - Hue province until 2020 with a vision to 2025.
