Deputy Minister Phan Tam works with the US-ASEAN Business Council

On March 12, Deputy Minister Phan Tam met and worked with the US-ASEAN Business Council headed by Mr. Michael W. Michalak - Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director and more than 20 businesses operating in Vietnam such as Facebook, Apple, IBM, Amazon, UPS, Paypal, Time Warners, Nielsen ... and representatives of the US Embassy in Hanoi.

 At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam emphasized that in recent years, the cooperation between Vietnam and the United States is developing strongly, appreciated the substantial and effective contributions of the US Business Council - ASEAN and US businesses in promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Participating by all units tasked with building policies of the Ministry, the Ministry of Information and Communications was willing to listen to comments from businesses of the US Business Council - ASEAN. At the same time, the Deputy Minister also expressed his wish that US enterprises gave their opinions, shared difficulties and obstacles facing while operating in Vietnam.

 Mr. Michael Michalak highly appreciated the development in the cooperative relations between the two countries in recent years, affirming that this was an important premise for the two sides to consolidate, deepen existing cooperation areas, expand to new areas of cooperation, especially IT and cybersecurity. He wished that in the coming time, the Government of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Information and Communications in particular would continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for US businesses to invest stably in Vietnam.
 
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam and representatives of relevant units of the Ministry of Information and Communications answers questions regarding the legal mechanism in IT, cybersecurity, post, television, 5G telecommunication network; as well as investment opportunities with agencies, units and businesses in Vietnam market.
 
The Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) encouraged US businesses to cooperate and accompany Vietnamese enterprises, piloting new technologies and solutions in Vietnam in the implementation of 5G, Internet of Things (IoT) and information security.
