Vietnam - Finland strengthens cooperation in information security

 On March 12, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung had a meeting with the Finnish expert delegation.

At the meeting, the representative of the Finnish delegation expected the government and enterprises of the two countries to discuss about creating models and operating mechanisms at the national level; building the foundation for digital services and e-Government; ensuring the national information security and project management mechanisms, etc. He also proposed the Ministry of Information and Communications, in the fourth quarter of 2019, to organize the Vietnam - Finland Forum on ICT, especially in the field of information security and IT applications.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said the content of building solutions and products on information security and e-Government were also the top concerns of the Ministry.
 
Regarding the content of information security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung also shared the solutions that the Ministry of Information and Communications were focusing on, specifically: Innovation, creating awareness of laws on information security of the whole society; Mobilize all resources, especially of enterprises, in ensuring information security; Strengthen the security of national network information; Promote the development of information security products and services; Promote the training and development of human resources for small and medium enterprises operating in the field of information security; Promote the application of public digital signatures in socio-economic activities, etc.
 
Currently, Vietnam has more than 2,000 students studying in Finland, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung hoped the Finnish Government facilitated their study and opportunities to work in the field of information security of Vietnam and Finland.

In the morning of the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung also met Mr. Amit Midha, Vice President of Dell, President of Asia-Pacific and Japan.
 
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung and Mr. Amit Midha exchanged cooperation activities between the Ministry of Information and Communications and Dell Group in building a standard framework for smart cities. Deputy Minister said, currently the Ministry of Information and Communications was  building a framework of standards for smart cities to create conditions for localities to implement projects on smart cities.
 
Mr. Amit Midha said, Dell Group is very willing to cooperate with the Ministry of Information and Communications in these areas. He affirmed that if there are appropriate policies and legal frameworks, smart investment, the deployment of smart cities will certainly succeed.
