Information security businesses will use AI as a protection tool in the new era, but the hackers certainly do not ignore this tool.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung said that the world was entering the digital economy, so businesses had to carry out digital transformation to adapt and survive by bringing most of their activities to the cyberspace.

Most IT systems of businesses and organizations are connected to the Internet, and hackers will see the opportunity to attack these systems.

Today's digital ecosystems such as network infrastructure, cloud computing, Software as a Service (SaaS), IoT, etc. are fertile ground for cybercriminals. With many new technology models, the Deputy Minister said that many traditional information security plans were not effective.

In recent years, the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is really a hot trend, applied in most industries. Network security businesses are now relying on AI to increase their power to reduce errors. However, on the contrary, AI is also used by black hat hackers.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung, there were about 7 billion IoTs equipment in the world. Vietnam currently has about 350,000 IoTs, mostly surveillance cameras and routers, of which about 40% are affected by security vulnerabilities.

From the above issues, the Deputy Minister said that in the coming time, the existed risks were clear. The malicious code is becoming smarter with a more perfect environment to operate, targeting IoT devices.

"This is a great challenge for state agencies, organizations, businesses, individuals and the whole community in Vietnam, to avoid unfortunate consequences," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung.
