At the meeting, Mr. Yung Kim expressed his desire to cooperate with Vietnamese partners to design and manufacture ONT chipsets in Vietnam and export to the world market.
Dasan is collaborating with the Vietnam-Korea Science and Technology Institute (VKIST) to carry out initial steps of designing the chipset. However, the implementation is facing some difficulties such as: shortage of human resources. Dasan wants to cooperate with telecom operators such as VNPT and Viettel to implement this project.
Acting Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that MIC fully supported this project. The Ministry will chair and invite Viettel and VNPT to join. On human resources, Acting Minister said that the Posts and Telecommunications Technology Institute (under Ministry of Information and Communications) would consider to open chip programming courses to support the needs of technology companies.
