The book series is expected to further strengthen the special relationship between the two countries.

In addition to the fine modern relationship between Vietnam and Laos, the book series also explores the political, historical and cultural similarities between the two countries during the past.

Other topics include the literature, festivals and Buddhist philosophies of Vietnam and Laos, as well as essential information on the people, economy, society and culture of Laos.

The book series is expected to further strengthen the special relationship between the two countries, which was described by President Ho Chi Minh as deeper than the Red and Mekong Rivers.

The modern relationship was first established by Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Lao President Kaysone Phomvihane and has been nurtured by the subsequent generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries.

During the wars against foreign aggressors, Vietnam and Laos fought together to bring the revolutions in both countries to victory.

And 2017 was a particularly meaningful year for the bilateral relationship when Vietnam and Laos celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
