AnyMind has offices in 9 countries and territories. In Vietnam, the company, which started 22 months ago, specializes in AI apps at two offices. It is still recruiting more workers, planning to increase the number of employees from 260 in 10 offices to 400 by the end of this year.

Shopee, an e-commerce firm, with a staff of 300 members, has moved to a new office with space large enough for 700 workers. Prior to that, its staff expanded by 50 percent in the time from Q2 to Q4.

Tran Tuan Anh, CEO of Shopee, said the company would implement a program to develop human resources from 2018.

Under the program, large recruitment campaigns at prestigious universities will be organized. In order to attract talents, the company will offer better conditions in job opportunities and provide training in Singapore.

Misa, a Vietnamese software firm, also moved to a new office in July 2017 to ensure a modern space for 500 workers. The new head office has a mini golf course and an indoor mountaineering area.

TopDev, in its latest report about the job situation in the IT industry, commented that 2017 was a busy year for developer recruitment and it will continue this year.

Sixty percent of the companies with more than 500 workers said they plan to hire more workers. Meanwhile, 70 percent of large corporations with staff of more than 5,000 workers plan to attract more technology specialists this year.

JavaScript is still among the languages most used by programmers. It is also one of the programming language IT firms most want, just after Python.

Dan Sinh also cited a report of ITviec.com as saying that 69 percent of technology firms plan to increase their IT staff by 10-50 percent this year.

The report says the hottest job in the IT sector is senior developer. 45 percent of companies surveyed by ITviec.com said the salary for IT workers increased by 10-20 percent last year, while 37 percent say the pay rose by less than 10 percent. 16 percent said they raised the salary by over 20 percent to recruit new engineers.

Though the labor cost is on the rise, Vietnam is still considered a competitive market. Most companies said the value they gain in exchange for the costs is better than in other markets.
