Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Truong Minh Tuan said that the Vietnam-South Korea relation had developed in all fields. Korea has become one of the important strategic partners of Vietnam and Vietnam is also South Korea's leading strategic partner in Southeast Asia. Cooperation in ICT is contributing to deepening this relationship and contributing positively to the development of each country. In particular, the cooperation in the field of information and communication has been promoted by both governments and enterprises, not only in the field of telecommunications, but also in the fields of post, information security, IT industry, e-government, etc.
The Government of Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for Korean corporations to invest and transfer technology to Vietnam in order to develop its infrastructure and IT industry, based on the MoU between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Communications of Korea.
With regard to the opening of the Vietnam-Korea ICT Cooperation Center in Hanoi, the Minister believes that "the Center will be an important bridge to promote the cooperation between the two countries in the field of ICT".
Minister You Young-min expressed his expectation that the Vietnam-Korea ICT Cooperation Center in Hanoi would be as effective as other 4 Korea IT cooperation centers established in the United States, Japan, China and Singapore.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan had a meeting with Minister of Science, Technology and Communications of Korea You Young-min.
