Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong receives General Director of Hitachi

On August 24, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong met with the Hitachi Group delegation led by Mr. Toshiaki Higashihara, CEO of Hitachi Japan.

At the meeting, representatives of Hitachi Corporation reported to the Deputy Minister about the cooperation between Vietnam Post and Hitachi Japan in Vietnam in recent years and the implementation progress of the project Electronic payments focus on the application of information technology in the payment of pensions and social allowances for beneficiaries through the post office system.
 
According to the report, within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, VNPost and the Hitachi Group/SMBC Bank signed an agreement on the implementation of electronic payment solution (e-money). Hitachi and VNPost have attempted to negotiate an IT service contract, a cooperation agreement on financial management and banking with SMBC to implement Phase 1 of the IT application in the payment of pensions, social insurance benefits and social assistance payments, thereby improving the efficiency of public services, social security payments, pensions, payments,… that Vietnam Post is providing.
 
The pilot implementation was implemented in Binh Giang, Hai Duong from April 2017 and in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi in May 2017. Phase 2: Extend the scope of E-Money electronic payment infrastructure to other postal services and serve the postal partners (online payment, stores, refill ... ). Phase 3: Develop cooperation with partners to develop postal payment services to facilitate people and society (train, bus, toll, etc.).
  
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Toshiaki Higashihara, General Director of Hitachi Japan expressed the wish to be supported by MIC in carrying out projects in the coming time.
 
At the reception, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong appreciated the cooperation between enterprises of Vietnam and Japan in recent years.
 
Deputy Minister said, Hitachi Japan was currently the leading partner in Vietnam in the field of ICT. He hoped that Hitachi would participate in cooperation in the development of IT and Internet in Vietnam, thereby promoting cooperation in the field of ICT between enterprises of the two countries, creating many opportunities for growth in the postal sector.
 
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong committed that the Ministry of Information and Communications would continue to create favorable conditions for the two enterprises to develop the project, creating a favorable investment environment for Hitachi to open up many other projects throughout Vietnam. At the same time, MIC directs concerned agencies of Vietnam to create the most favorable environment and conditions for Japanese enterprises, especially IT enterprises.
