At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and shared experience in building  Vietnam's postal code, which France had supported on the basis of the project of the Ministry of Information and Communication and Vietnam Post.

Mrs. Beatrice Roux said, the goal of building a postal code system was practical, efficient and sustainable in order to create a national delivery system and improve the quality of services.

According to Mrs. Beatrice Roux, in Vietnam, the postal address was not synchronized and postal code standards had not been used. Based on the experience of La Poste, France has identified several principles for achieving this goal, namely the need to have a postal address system, from north to south, for  Vietnam Post and other operators, including e-commerce ones. It is important for the government to work with the postal operator to identify and design a postal code.

The representative of Vietnam Post said that Vietnam Post would unify the establishment of Vietnam's global address structure system, and at the same time, carry out the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Information and Communications for planning to identify the postal code structure, under the project on postal code which will be implemented in 2018.

Vietnam Post also asked La Poste to expand the scope of the project to advise Vietnam Post on the principle and implementation of the related postal code system, to assist Vietnam Post to effectively implement the project.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said that Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnam Post would like to receive the support and consultancy of La Poste on postal code and address structure in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said that using the postal code system would help to increase the productivity and quality in post. Minister of Information and Communications also signed the decision to set up a Working Group to build the national postal code. MIC thanked the La Poste's experience and assistance in the project to build Vietnam's national postal code. He hoped, the national postal code, once completed, would be used for a variety of purposes, especially in the implementation of universal postal services for the State.
