Japan ICT Day 2016

On October, 26, in Hanoi, Japan ICT Day 2016 with the theme: "10 years of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan - Looking back at the past, looking to the future: IT Services - IT Products – Advanced technology" was officially opened. The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), in coordination with the Vietnam–Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC) and Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade. Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung attented and spoke at the event.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung said: The cooperation between Vietnam - Japan in recent years had seen strong development and Japan was Vietnam's leading economic, trade, investment partnership.

MIC and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan signed several agreements of cooperation, including the agreement on the management of radio frequency, information security, post and human resource development. The two sides also are accelerating the implementation of the Action Plan on Developing the electronics industry in the framework of Vietnam - Japan Cooperation towards 2020 and with a vision towards 2030.

Deputy Minister noted, almost Vietnam enterprises participating in the activities of processing, software exports to the Japanese market saw their revenues increased. In Vietnam, IT has always been interested and become a key economic sector promoting the development of many other economic, social sectors of the country. In the future, IT will continue to be identified as one of the key motivations for the development of knowledge-based economy, information society, enhancing the national competitiveness.

In Japan ICT Day 2016, the report on 10 years of Vietnam - Japan's ICT cooperation of VINASA besides recorded significant results, achievements in ICT cooperation between businesses of the two countries, also highlighted the challenges for Vietnam enterprises

Also at the event, two MoUs were signed between the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association  (VINASA) and IT Services Association of Japan (JISA); Club IT cooperation Vietnam - Japan (VJC) and Japan System Integration Partners Association (JASIPA). The content of these MoUs focus on promoting cooperation between members of the associations of the two countries in the IT sector.
 
Within the framework of this event, VINASA also awarded certificates to 50 top IT companies in Vietnam in 2015.
