The My Dinh bus station was the first site in Hanoi where free wifi service was launched in February 2015.

The Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) also announced its plans to provide free wi-fi service on 200 buses in the coming time, and then on all of its buses.
Early this year, Hanoi authorities announced to supply free wifi services in the Hanoi Old Quarter to serve tourists.

The Hanoi government approved the city's postal and telecommunications development plan to 2020, which needs a total investment of VND7,884 billion, including nearly VND3,200 billion from the state budget.
