Minister Truong Minh Tuan receives Ambassador of Republic of France

On July, 15 th , 2016, in Hanoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan had a meeting with Mr. Jean-Noël Poirier, Ambassador of Republic of France in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan expressed his deep condolences to the Government and people of France for the painful loss of the terrorist attack occurred in the city of Nice on July, 14th.

Minister Tuan said that since France and Vietnam signed the strategic partnership, both countries strengthened the economic and cultural cooperation, including cooperation in the field of Information and Communications. France is one of the donor countries for ODA projects in Vietnam’s telecommunications. The two countries have had good cooperation on information security, broadcasting, frequency management, etc.
 
At the meeting, Minister Truong Minh Tuan also briefed on the development of Information and Communications of Vietnam industry. At the moment, MIC is drafting a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on e-government construction with the Office of Administrative Modernization (France). Minister Tuan hoped that the MoU would be signed during the visit of  the French President to Vietnam in September, 2016.
 
Mr. Jean-Noel Poirier expressed thanks for the condolences of Minister Truong Minh Tuan to the terrorist attack in the city of Nice.
 
Ambassador shared that Vietnam and France have had a relationship of cooperation in the field of Information and Communications in the past 15-20 years. France continued to pay special attention to the field of Information and Communications of Vietnam, and looked forward to receive more proposals from Vietnam.
