Plan on ending analog TV channels in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Can Tho

Ministry of Information and Communications issued documents to radio and television stations informing plans on ending broadcastion of analog channels in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Can Tho.

Implementing the decision of the Head of the Steering Committee of  ‘Vietnam’s Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Digitisation by 2020’,  concerning the moments for ending analog channels in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Can Tho, on June, 7th, 2016, the MIC issued documents to Vietnam Television, VTC Digital Television; Hanoi Radio Television; Ho Chi Minh City Television; Hai Phong Radio Television; Can Tho Radio Television to inform plans to end analog TV channels at these cities.

Accordingly, from June, 15th, 2016, analog channels will be ended in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho with channels as follows: VTV6, H2, VTC9 in Hanoi; VTV6, VtV9, VTC9, HTV7 in Ho Chi Minh; VTV6, VTV Can Tho 1, VTV Can Tho 2, VTC9 in Can Tho. All analog TV transmitters of Vietnam Television and VTC Digital Television locating in Binh Duong and broadcasting channels: VTV6, VTV9, VTC9 with the geographical coverage of Ho Chi Minh City will end their operation on June, 15th, 2016.
 
From August, 15th, 2016, all analog channels in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City will be ended. All remaining transmitters of Vietnam Television and VTC Digital Television located in Binh Duong covering Ho Chi Minh City have to end their operation by August, 15th, 2016.
