Deputy Minister Phan Tam receives Qualcomm

On January, 28th, 2016 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam had a meeting with Mr. Jim Cathey, VP & President, Qualcomm Asia - Pacific and India. Joining the meeting also representatives of International Cooperation Department, Authority of Telecommunications.

At the meeting, Mr. Jim Cathey reported and updated the strategy and plans of Qualcomm in Asia - Pacific and Vietnam, shared the development trend of 3G/4G LTE mobile technology in the region and the world.

In the last year, with the support and assistance from the MIC and its partners in the mobile ecosystem in Vietnam, Qualcomm had organized international conferences on 4G LTE. In addition, Qualcomm is actively contributing opinions in the field of frequency policy, information security, privacy ... At the same time, Qualcomm has provided training on wireless technologies including 3G/4G; carried out ESG projects in planning and network optimization; connected manufacturers with operators to meet the roadmap and requirements of LTE networks, etc.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Tam said, in Viet Nam, 4G deployment was in the testing phase. Deputy Minister hoped that Qualcomm would continue to share experiences and support the development of 4G, accordingly, focusing on training and development of human resources, broadband, handheld devices with localized applications, etc.
